Blixseth justifies taking millions

April 30, 2009

One by One they all come tumbling down. Even in my state. But that is not a good thing. How many people will loose their jobs in a state that is considered the fifth largest land wise, but also the fifth or sixth poorest because of this.

From the Montana Standard:

MISSOULA — The mountain resort for the rich founded by Tim Blixseth has collapsed financially. But the flamboyant billionaire insisted in federal court Wednesday he was justified in taking hundreds of millions of dollars from the Yellowstone Club leading up to its bankruptcy.

Blixseth blames the worldwide economic crisis and his former wife’s supposed mismanagement of the club for its problems. His critics cast him as emblematic of the financial excesses that spurred the global crisis — even as rich players like Blixseth made off with millions.

“I assumed when no one said to me there’s something wrong with it, there’s nothing wrong with it,” Tim Blixseth said during testimony Wednesday in a trial connected to the club’s bankruptcy case. He was referring to one of several money transfers totaling at least $200 million that the club made to Blixseth and corporations he controlled.

“I was the manager, and I did what I felt was an appropriate decision at the time,” he said.

He added that in the club’s early years, when it was cash-strapped and looking for members, the situation was reversed, with Blixseth pumping in tens of millions of dollars to keep the resort afloat.

Now wait a minute, I thought as rich investors that’s what your supposed to do, “Invest”. The fact that the entire world is consumer based is not sustainable. There is only so much money and credit to spend to go around as we are witnessing now. The current economy’s time is running out. What’s the alternative. Self Sufficiency. Start now people.

Lawmakers Beg Times Co. to Spare Boston Globe

April 30, 2009

Please President Obama et al, please save me. Bail me out. Pay my bills. Pay for this blog. Pay for my/our radio show. Where is my government cheese???

From Newsmax.com:

BOSTON — The Massachusetts congressional delegation has sent a letter to the chairman of The New York Times Co. urging that a solution be found to prevent The Boston Globe from closing.

The letter to Arthur Sulzberger Jr., released Tuesday, was signed by Sens. Edward Kennedy and John Kerry and nine of the state’s 10 House members. It called the Globe “an immense asset for Boston and New England” and said closing it would be an “irreplaceable loss.”

The Kentucky Derby is Approaching

April 29, 2009

The recent deaths of all those poor Polo Ponies sparked my interest in these following articles. Also I want our readers and listeners of the our Uncooperative Radio show to read between the lines and notice how different news organizations spin the same story a different way. Learn how to be uncooperative readers.

From the Daily News:

LOUISVILLE – A year ago, the winner of the Kentucky Derby became famous for more than just finishing first in America’s most famous race. Big Brown also made headlines when his trainer, Rick Dutrow Jr., told the Daily News he had given the colt the steroid Winstrol on the 15th of every month.

At the time, Winstrol was legal in Kentucky, but in the furor that ensued, the use of anabolic steroids was banned, and this year, no horse will compete on steroids in the Triple Crown series that begins on Saturday with the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby.

The steroid ban went into effect on Jan. 1 in almost every racing jurisdiction and had already been adopted by California for last year’s Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita in October.

“I’m all into it,” Dutrow said of the ban. “I don’t notice it at all now. Steroids never meant nothing.”

Now from the “Old Grey Corrupted Lady;

The New York Times:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The death of the filly Eight Belles at last year’s Kentucky Derby, along with the revelation that Big Brown had been treated with steroids before his dazzling victory, spurred pledges of reform and accountability for the welfare of the American thoroughbred. But as racing prepares for its biggest show on Saturday, many top owners and trainers still resist discussing what legal medications their horses are receiving.Of the 20 owners or their trainers who as of Monday intended to run a horse in the Derby, only three shared their veterinary records with The New York Times.

Same story totally different angles. And notice; just because these owners wouldn’t talk to the New York Times they must be corrupt. What a rag. Who the hellll do the writers think they are. Oh I know, the mouth piece for the Commie Left. I wouldn’t give those jokers my shoe size. Why do people still buy their paper. I use it as an example of how not to be a journalist. I guess they think they are the investigative wing of President Obamanation’s cabinet.

Now the story about the poor Polo Ponies.

From Fox News:

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Florida pharmacy said Thursday that it incorrectly prepared a supplement given to 21 polo horses that died over the weekend while preparing to play in a championship match.

Unable to legally bring a supplement into the U.S. to make their horses more resilient, a Venezuelan polo team had the pharmacy mix up the concoction.

What happened next, though, was disastrous. The chemicals were mixed wrong, and the 21 horses given the brew died in rapid succession, some collapsing just before taking the field in a championship polo match. The others fell soon after, one by one, shocking a well-heeled crowd gathered to watch the U.S. Open at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington.

Specter ‘Driven Out’ of GOP by ‘Right Wing’ and ‘Fringe of Party’

April 29, 2009

I’m watching the TV show “Fringe” right now, and the commie left and the GOP for that matter wouldn’t know “fringe” if it bit them on the butt. Both Parties have sold us out and I say goodbye to bad rubbish. Hezbocrats, they are all, (with a few, very few), Hezbocrats that have subverted the Constitution and could give a rats behind about “we the People”. It’s time you folks voted your with your head and stopped thinking that if you vote for someone else your throwing your vote away. We have been throwing our votes away for decades. Oh and start local.

From NewsBusters:

The evening newscasts on Tuesday night attributed Senator Arlen Specter’s motivation for changing parties to how he realized he wouldn’t win the Republican primary in Pennsylvania, but they also, just as they did with Senator Jim Jeffords in 2001, eagerly relayed — without any challenge — Specter’s spin that, in the words of the TV journalists, he “had been driven out by the right-wing of the Republican Party,” the GOP’s “increasingly conservative tilt” and “the fringe of the party.”

What is going on in Pennsylvania? Between voting in this man and Murtha MurthaGeHod, I don’t know what your all thinking. Wait your not. Please people, you have two years to change this trend. “The choice is yours.”

Government Report: Non-Lethal Weapon Program a Waste of Money

April 28, 2009

painDFrom Fox News:

The Pentagon’s pain ray? Pointless. The laser dazzler? Lousy. The anti-vehicle slippery foam? Washed out.

That’s the upshot of a highly critical report released last week by the U.S. Government Accountability Office and expounded upon by Wired News.

The report found that the Department of Defense’s Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program (JNLWP) has spent $386 million since it was formed in 1996, and created exactly zero useful non-lethal weapons.

For example, the Active Denial System (ADS) or “pain ray,” which focuses microwaves on a target’s skin to create intense pain without any lasting effect, does work, as several journalists found out when it zapped them during demonstrations a couple of years ago.

But it takes 16 hours for it to warm up, according to the GAO report. It weighs 9 tons. It’s so complicated it can’t be fixed in the field. After spending $55 million, the DoD decided not to deploy it overseas.

But at least the ADS is still being worked on. Two other projects were terminated after a total of $12 million had been spent.

Look we had to try. The libs were crying for the war to end, well any war to be exact, I could see us trying to do this. After all we are the most compassionate country in the world. But it didn’t work. So I say Stay Lethal. It works.

A.G. ‘Relatively Close’ to Making Decision on Gitmo Detainees

April 27, 2009

Now I’m going to have you read this article first. Then an article about my home state of Montana. It seems that some states; mostly poor states, like mine are thinking that having the most dangerous terrorists in the world housed in their state a “cash cow.”

From Fox News:

LONDON — The United States is “relatively close” to making decisions on what to do with an initial group of Guantanamo Bay detainees, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said Sunday.

Holder spoke to The Associated Press during a flight to London, the first of several stops where he will visit with European leaders to discuss terrorism, drugs, and cyber-crime.

The attorney general did not say how much longer he thought it would take to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility in Cuba. Before officials can meet President Obama’s January deadline, the U.S. must first decide which detainees to put on trial and which to release to the U.S. or other countries.

My State already bids for mentally disturbed people from around the country. I know, I worked for the State for 5 years as an evening Nurse Supervisor for a one of these facilities. So now we wanted terrorists. But thankfully it didn’t happen. We have enough prisons and mental institutions. Why don’t we stick with money within our state using our resources, like cattle, wheat and such. We export all our food now. I know because I am forced to buy beef from outside our country. Yea I know there are co-op programs here, not enough. I’d like to buy from my local farm/ranch.

From USA TODAY:

The city council in Hardin, Mont., thought it had a great idea for filling it’s underutilized jail — bid for the contract to take the detainees from Gitmo, according to the Billings Gazette,

But two days after it voted to pursue the contract, the council has run into a few obstacles — namely, the entire Montana Congressional delegation.

Good for our elected cockroaches of the fine State of Montana.

U.S. Declares Public Health Emergency in Wake of Swine Flu

April 26, 2009

I didn’t want to report on this yet because it’s still evolving and I for one hate when the Lame Stream Media jumps on a story before it has all it’s facts and ducks in a row. But the Uncooperative husband/radio show host wants this brought out.

From The AP:

WASHINGTON — The United States has activated an emergency plan to combat swine flu as the Obama administration announced measures Sunday to contain the sometimes deadly virus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified the strain of swine flu and is prepared to distribute a quarter of the U.S. stockpile of 50 million doses of anti-viral medications in places around the country where swine flu has been located or may be expected to spread, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said in a briefing at the White House.

Travel advisories have not been issued by the State Department, Napolitano said, nor is the United States going to screen passengers on flights arriving from Mexico. She said funds have been freed up in case a larger response is needed.

Hand-washing, mask-wearing and other measures will help prevent the spread, Napolitano said explaining how the public can help slow potential contaminations.

Now, how in God’s beautiful green earth could this ever come into The United States Of America. Hummmmm, wait for it, wait for it, Could It Be Those Wonderful Illegal Aliens that are cleaning the schools, in Queens, watching the children of Queens, or maintaining the lawns of our region. The CDC is now scrambling to investigate. Oh no, say it’s not so, I’m a racist. No I’m pragmatic; yea folks look that one up, he,he,he.
